This
permanent exhibition at the newly reopened Ewha Womans University
Museum puts on display the history of Korean ceramics centered
around the Museum¡¯s finest pieces.
This exhibition highlights the history of Korean earthenware,
which has come down together with the history of the Korean
people, as an important current in the history of Korean ceramics.
This exhibition introduces
the two traditions of earthenware, from prehistoric times up
through the onggi, and of porcelain, from Goryeo celadon through
Joseon white porcelain, and presents them each in its own unique
light and with its own unique character. In so doing, this exhibition
represents ¡°A New Perspective on Korean Ceramics,¡± which considers
earthenware and porcelain in an equal relationship.
